Thanks to all of you!

I just had a chance to read the comments on the blog and wanted to say thanks for all of your kind words, prayers, encouragement and support.  I am not sure I deserve such praise.  I am just a mom who loves her children and a woman with Christ's spirit living inside her heart.  He should get all the glory for leading me to this incredible boy and allowing this miracle to happen.

Please pray for Christian's birthparents and especially his uncle, aunt, cousins and sweet grandmother.  I am especially concerned for the aunt and uncle that raised Christian those first 7 years.  I can still hear in my head his uncle sobbing as we got into the van and pulled away the other day.  I think it was the hardest thing I have ever done.  I felt like I was taking their son away again...even though I know in my heart that this is not only what Christian wants but what is best for him.  I am so thankful that his Chinese family (now a part of our family) wants the best for Christian.  They are wonderful people who love him dearly and my heart breaks for what they are going through.  I pray that knowing he is alive and well now will bring them peace.  I will be sending them updates and photos regularly so they can be a part of his life again.  I believe the Lord has big plans for Christian and his work on earth has just begun.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. -Matthew 5:16

  1. I'm sure you have raised Christian with awareness, but the experience of visiting his birth country and meeting his family has been overwhelming from all accounts. I'm also sure once he has time to process the experience he will start to realize there has been a higher power watching over him with a master plan that has taken him on this amazing journey....I have to agree his plans while only known to him will reveal themselves to Christian and it will be a joy to share in their unfolding...thank you for your inspirational blog and story!

  2. I am so glad that you are there and thriving. I hope that Christian (a namesake as my full name is Christian too) can process the trip and everything that has gone on within it and use it in his life...his story and yours are amazing and I think there's at least one book in it--but not just yet. You're all in my prayers today.

  3. Christian remembers me a little bit of Moses.
The parents had no chance to provide him a life in their own family so they sent him away. After a long jorney it happened that he came to your family (in a so called rich world. Now the parents can relief and be happy and grateful that their son (your son as well) developed so wonderfully and got a good life provided. He can bring so much blessings to his birth family. You will be blessed as well.
    Many greetings from Germany!!

  4. Maybe I missed it, but did Christian get to meet his birth mother?

  5. You mentioned "first 7 years" in this message - does this mean Christian is a year older than the orphanage estimated? Christian, your story has touched so many people. I cannot imagine how difficult all this has been, and will be for a long time to come, to process. Blessings upon you and all your family on both sides of the ocean.

  7. Thank you for taking the time while on such an emotional and physically exhausting trip to let us in on the details. We are praying for you and for all of Christian's families. His aunt & uncle and grandmother must be soooo torn.(as well as you all) I cannot even imagine how difficult it must be for everyone. Hope you have received word that many of us want to help with your expenses. As a single mother it must be quite expensive, such a trip. Keep up the good work, I am sure you are all missing your little girl as well. I have enjoyed learning where the cities are from Google maps, so it has been fun to follow your route as well.

  8. This is my first time commenting, but I have been faithgully following. What a story and so much for Christian to process. I have a 16 year old son and I just can't imagine the emotions Christians must be feeling.
I can only imagine how difficult leaving was. I hope that Christian is able to get back home and into his routine a bit and feeling somewhat normal again. I know God has big things in store for him to bring this whole miracle together as He did.

  10. I have see so many cases of adopted Chinese kids in oversea during my travelling. And it's really warm the people in the earth is so kindly pouring their loves to these orphans. the most emotional thing is you were trying to find their histories and show the respect for their choices.. that is adorable, and I like that. bless you and your kids.

  12. I have enjoyed your story so much. It really is a one in a million type thing. I'm also impressed by the type of mom you are to be willing to share your child with the birth family. I have three Chinese daughters, and I don't think I would have been even half as noble. Blessings to you and yours!
